Shipping & Logistics Policy
Welcome to Sonbol Flax Co. As a premier global exporter of high-quality natural flax fibers, yarns, and agricultural byproducts based in Egypt, we are dedicated to providing seamless, transparent, and highly efficient international logistics services. Because our transactions are primarily Business-to-Business (B2B) and involve bulk industrial quantities, our shipping terms are highly structured to ensure corporate compliance and material safety during transit.
1. Trade Terms & Incoterms
We flexibly operate under international commercial codes to accommodate our buyers’ logistics networks. Our standard quoted terms include:
- FOB (Free On Board): Standard delivery and customs clearance at major Egyptian export sea ports.
- CFR (Cost and Freight) & CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight): Arranged upon request directly to your designated commercial destination port.
- EXW (Ex Works): Available for clients managing their own domestic freight or consolidating cargo directly from our manufacturing facilities in Egypt.
2. Primary Ports of Loading (Egypt)
All international maritime freight is processed and cleared through Egypt’s leading commercial shipping hubs to guarantee fast transit times and reliable vessel scheduling:
- Port of Alexandria / El-Dekheila Port
- Port of Damietta
- Port of Port Said (East / West)
- Abu Qir Port
- Ain Sokhna Port
3. Lead Times & Production Schedules
- Order Processing & Quality Inspection: Standard bulk orders require a processing window of 14 to 30 business days from the receipt of the advance payment or confirmed Letter of Credit (L/C). This timeline accounts for rigorous mechanical de-dusting, moisture calibration, and phytosanitary certification.
- Custom & Tailored Orders: Specialized specifications (such as specific linear densities for flax slivers or custom-weighted sanitary flax spools) are subject to specific production queues. Estimated shipping dates will be explicitly detailed in your Proforma Invoice (PI).
4. Industrial Packaging & Material Protection
Natural flax fibers are highly sensitive to moisture variations and atmospheric humidity. To safeguard the structural integrity and spin-ability of our products, Sonbol Flax Co. employs strict industrial packaging standards:
- Fibers and Slivers: Compressed into heavy-duty bales and wrapped in water-resistant, UV-stabilized polymer membranes, standardly packed at 25 kg to 100 kg per unit to combat maritime humidity.
- Sanitary Flax & Yarns: Secured on industrial plastic spools or moisture-proof bags, packed into reinforced corrugated master cartons, and securely palletized.
- Flax Shives (Animal Bedding): Highly compressed, advanced mechanical dust-extracted, and hermetically sealed in clear plastic bales to prevent environmental contamination during sea transit.
5. Export Documentation & Compliance
Every shipment dispatched by Sonbol Flax Co. is accompanied by a comprehensive legal documentation suite required for seamless customs clearance at the destination country:
- Commercial Invoice & Detailed Packing List.
- Clean Bill of Lading (B/L) issued by reputable global shipping lines.
- Certificate of Origin (Issued and verified by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry).
- Phytosanitary Certificate (Verifying that products are 100% natural, chemical-free, and pest-free).
- Fumigation Certificate (Where legally required by the destination port authorities).
6. Sample Shipments
For corporate quality evaluation, sample requests (typically 1 kg to 5 kg) are processed promptly to ensure full transparency before bulk contracting.
- Sample Costs: Product samples are typically provided free of charge or at a nominal production fee depending on the product grade and processing level.
- Courier Charges: International air courier charges (via DHL, FedEx, or Aramex) are the responsibility of the importing client, payable via corporate courier account or advance wire transfer.

Privacy Policy & Terms of Business
Sonbol Flax Co. (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, privacy, and professional compliance in all our corporate interactions. This document outlines our data privacy protocols and foundational terms governing international B2B inquiries, sample procurement, and wholesale commercial transactions.
SECTION 1 – CORPORATE DATA PRIVACY
1.1 Collection of Information
When you interact with our digital platform (sonbolflax.com), submit a “Request a Quote,” or initiate a sample order, we collect essential corporate identifiers necessary to conduct international trade. This includes:
- Company Name, Corporate Registration Details, and Tax Identifiers.
- Authorized representative name, professional email address, telephone, and WhatsApp numbers.
- Logistics data, including destination ports, importing history, and material specifications.
1.2 Utilization of Corporate Data
The information gathered is strictly utilized to execute trade obligations, specifically:
- Generating formal Proforma Invoices (PI) and commercial rate quotations.
- Coordinating with international freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers.
- Issuing legal export documentation and sanitary certifications.
- We NEVER sell, lease, or distribute your corporate data or contact information to third-party marketing agencies.
SECTION 2 – TERMS OF BUSINESS & WHOLESALE CONTRACTS
2.1 Quality and Specification Standards
- Material Conformity: All raw fibers, slivers, yarns, and shives are supplied in strict compliance with the physical parameters, moisture levels (e.g., ≤10% for flax bedding), and technical metrics specified in our official product data sheets.
- Natural Tolerances: As natural agricultural products, minor variations in fiber color, length, and texture may occur across different harvesting seasons. These variations fall within universally accepted textile industry tolerances.
2.2 Financial Terms & Payment Methods
To maintain secure international trade flows, all wholesale orders are executed under the following standard financial structures:
- Telegraphic Transfer (T/T): Typically structured as a percentage advance payment (e.g., 30% to 50%) to initiate production, with the remaining balance payable against scanned copies of the original shipping documents (Clean Bill of Lading).
- Letter of Credit (L/C): Irrevocable, confirmed Letters of Credit payable at sight are accepted, subject to prior approval by our corporate financial department.
2.3 Inspection and Claims
- Pre-Shipment Inspection: Buyers retain the right to appoint certified independent international inspection agencies (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify cargo weight, packaging, and quality at the Egyptian loading port prior to vessel departure.
- Claim Framework: Any discrepancies regarding cargo volume or quality defects must be officially documented and reported to the Company in writing within fourteen (14) days of the container’s arrival at the destination port, accompanied by clear photographic evidence and independent surveyor reports.
SECTION 3 – DIGITAL SECURITY & COOKIES
Our website utilizes standard corporate cookies and secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to optimize user experience, analyze web traffic patterns, and safeguard submitted data forms against unauthorized interception.
If you have any questions regarding our legal terms, privacy compliance, or wish to review your stored corporate information, please contact us.
Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Sonbol Flax Co. (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our website (sonbolflax.com) and lay down the legal framework for all corporate inquiries, international trade requests, contracts, and B2B commercial dealings executed with our company.
By browsing our website, submitting a “Request a Quote,” or entering into a commercial engagement with us, you (“the Client,” “the Buyer,” or “the User”) fully acknowledge, accept, and agree to comply with the terms set forth below.
1. Corporate Identity & Domain Use
Sonbol Flax Co. is a legally registered industrial enterprise operating under the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The content, images, product data sheets, and technical texts published on this platform are intended solely for verified corporate buyers seeking material sourcing, wholesale procurement, and legitimate international trade partnerships. Any unauthorized scraping, mirroring, or fraudulent misrepresentation of our platform is strictly prohibited.
2. Technical Quotes, Orders, & Contract Formations
- Proforma Invoices (PI): Any automated estimation or price request submitted via the website does not constitute a legally binding financial contract. A binding order is only established when a formal, signed, and stamped Proforma Invoice (PI) is officially issued by our export department and counter-signed by the authorized representative of the Buyer.
- Price Volatility: Due to seasonal agricultural crop conditions, currency fluctuations, and maritime freight volatility, all initial digital quotes have a fixed validity period (typically fourteen (14) calendar days) as explicitly specified in our commercial correspondence.
3. Product Specification Adjustments & Raw Material Standards
- Physical Tolerances: Our industrial products—ranging from water-retted long flax fibers, flax dolls, and slivers to short fibers, yarns, and shives—are derived from natural flax plants. While we enforce strict quality calibration processes, buyers must accept natural deviations in color shades, length uniformities, and textures standard within the global textile raw material industry.
- Moisture & Weight Controls: Cargo weights are officially certified at the loading port in Egypt using calibrated industrial scales. Due to ocean transit and atmospheric changes, a natural weight and moisture variance tolerance of up to +/- 3% at the discharge port is universally recognized under these Terms.
4. International Trade Compliance & Legal Certifications
- Importing Responsibilities: The Buyer holds sole responsibility for verifying that natural flax fibers and agricultural byproducts comply with the specific environmental, importing, and textile customs regulations of their destination country.
- Sanctions & Compliance: Sonbol Flax Co. operates strictly under international trade laws. We do not engage in trade, accept Letters of Credit, or ship cargo to entities or destination countries currently subject to United Nations sanctions or severe international trade embargoes.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
All visual and written assets on sonbolflax.com—including but not limited to corporate logos, trademarked product names (such as specific fiber grades or custom spool weights), macro-photography of flax processing, and technical database charts—are the exclusive intellectual property of Sonbol Flax Co. No section of this platform may be copied, repurposed, or used for commercial gain without our explicit prior written consent.
6. Limitation of Liability & Force Majeure
- Indirect Damages: Sonbol Flax Co. shall not be held liable to the Buyer for any indirect, incidental, or consequential business losses, including but not limited to loss of profits, factory downtime, or secondary manufacturing defects arising from production delays.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be held liable for any failure or delay in performing trade obligations caused by events beyond reasonable human control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, severe agricultural crop failures, labor strikes, port closures, or sudden government export/import restrictions.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution (ICC Arbitration)
- Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions, and any commercial contracts arising from them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
- Dispute Resolution: Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, which cannot be resolved amicably through direct corporate negotiations, shall be finally settled under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
- Arbitration Terms: The arbitration shall be conducted by one or more arbitrators appointed in accordance with the said Rules. The place of arbitration and the language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be mutually agreed upon in the final Proforma Invoice (PI) or commercial contract, and the binding decision of the ICC tribunal shall be final and enforceable worldwide.
